Expedia supports three different pricing models:
1) Occupancy based
2) Per day
3) Per person (not supported)
FrontDesk Master supports the occupancy based and per day model.
Depending on your pricing model, you need to choose the correct option in Expedia rate mapping:
OCCUPANCY PRICING MODEL
When you set up this model the prices lines in your extranet look this way:
In this case each rate should have also the occupancy pricing set up. In order to check the rate pricing model go to Room and Rates / Room, Rates and policies:
Click on Active rate plan / Edit this rate plan information:
It should look this way:
DORMS CONFIGURATION IN OCCUPANCY BASED MODEL
Once the pricing is set up it's very important to set up dorm correctly. They should have the occupancy 1 in its settings. It's crucial in order to avoid problems with overbookings.
PERY DAY PRICING MODEL
This model is normally set up by default and it looks this way in Expediapartnercentral:
And the rate section looks like this:
In case of choosing in the rate mapping the PER DAY pricing model, the system in case of private rooms will always send the maximum occupancy room price:
DORMS CONFIGURATION IN PER DAY PRICING MODEL
Also in this model is very important to set up max occupancy to 1 in case of dorms. It should look this way:
PRICE LIMITS ON EXPEDIA
A very important point as well is to make sure that the price limits set up on Expedia for each room type are correct. If you try to send the prices out of the mentioned limits Expedia will reject such update. E.g. if the minimum accepted price is 15 and you are trying to send 14, it will not go through.
We do not recommend leaving this section without limits, however it is important to have them set up correctly.
